SUMMARY:Liddington MIAS MTB Ride Leader L1/L2 course
DESCRIPTION:We will be running another MIAS Mountain Bike Leader Levels 1 & 2 course on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October 2026 at Liddington Village Hall.\n\n\nThis is the perfect course for anyone wanting to working in mountain biking and is a standard qualification for many outdoor activity companies\, such as Neilson Active. It is recognised internationally and domestically and is an ideal qualification for teachers or leaders in organisations like the Scouts looking to deliver mountain biking activities. Check out our Q&A page for more information on MIAS courses.  \n\n\nThe course will take place on the Marlborough downs and you will learn route planning\, skills coaching\, leadership and guiding skills\, enabling you to guide groups in technical terrain. It will also qualify you to teach the skills required to ride at that level. These include front wheel lifts\, rear wheel lifts\, bunny hops\, drops and trail obstacles. \n\n\nThe course costs £280\, which includes your MIAS registration and log book. Discounts are available for members of the armed forces\, Blue Light cards\, teachers\, members of cycling clubs and students and prospective employees of Neilson Active holidays. SUMMARY:Bicycle Home Maintenance Course
DESCRIPTION:This is our 1 day home mechanics course that will give you a comprehensive set of skills for servicing\, fixing and upgrading all the bikes in your family. \nYou bring your own bike (or a family) bike  and you will work on it through the course\, giving the bike a service by the end. It can be any bike – a child’s bike\, mountain bike\, road bike or even a folding bike. You will learn: \n1 – Fundamentals and Trail Repairs\n\nChecking your bike using an M check and determining what needs attention\nWhat tools you need for your home workshop and out on the trails\nHow to adjust your gears and eliminate indexing issues\nChecking and replacing brake blocks\nChecking and replacing tyres and fixing punctures\nLooking after and replacing your chain\n\n2 – Drivetrain\n\nReplacing cables\nCassettes\nFreehubs\nDerailleurs\nBottom brackets\nCranks\, chainrings and pedals\n\nThe cost of this 1 day course is normally £120\, but we are doing a half term special of £99 for this course.
