Swindon and it’s surrounding area is blessed with excellent riding, with some great views and fun trails. It is also has some great cycling infrastructure, enabling traffic free riding in the town as well.
Town Starter route
We have a great starter route that’s good for all weather and in the town itself. Starting at the Wichel Inn, the route goes out through Wichelstowe taking in the canal, up the old railway line, through town gardens down to Queens Drive and back through Coate Water. Near the end it passes Croft Trail, which can be added if you want.

MTB Wellness routes
Mountain Biking is great for mental health as well as physical health, so we create a series of MTB Wellness Rides. These are scenic rides that start nice and gentle and build up steadily in both technical and fitness challenge. They start at the Three Trees cafe on the A4 at the edge of Chiseldon, which as a free public car park next to it (as well as the cafe car park) and is of course a lovely place to refuel after your ride.
